Gay love:Is it so hard?

Love between 2 guys had always been a complicated issue,some say that a true love between 2 guys can never exist and all gays are promiscuous,some say that the reason why gay love doesn't last for long is that there's no strong bond like marriage between heterosexual couples,but let's face it does marriage mean love?here for example mostpeople get married to have families,children and not to be alone when they get older,so it's so normal that a lot of gays here are married not to forget traditions and the family pressure.Even straight guys who are married,are they really faithful?Do they really love there wives?I guess mostof them had betrayed their wives even in their imagination.What i want to say is that the problem isn't about homosexuality itself,even a straight guy has a lot of girlfriends during his life,as a gay guy do,so maybe that one love thing is not really realistic,the point is to fine love and live it and there are a lot of gay couples who are in love and who are married too,I don't think that it's marriage or kids that keeps love alive but it's our feelings towards someone,to love the guy with his bads and goods.And for those who say that gay love doesn't exist i say love is tender and knows no gender and we just need to find it.

For Rami, all is for the best in this best of all possible worlds, as long as he keeps to himself. But when his longtime lover leaves him to marry a woman and his best friends drift away, he comes face to face with the harsh realities of life as a gay man in Egypt. Against the backdrop of the choreographed crackdown on gay men and the notorious Queen Boat arrests of 2001, he plunges into a world of loveless friendships and spirals downwards to his ultimate downfall.

This was a brief synopsis of the first Egyptian movie involving gays as major characters,not to forget that a lot of movies had involved gays as minor,funny,unnatural characters.The acting and the story don't seem that strong but of course it's a major step toward a freer cinema in Egypt not to forget that the movie had been shot in Egypt and by Egyptians.

The last movie that interpreted a gay character was The Yacoubian Building where the journalist was gay and got killed at the end.The movie was criticized by the state council and 25% of members called for it to be banned claiming that homosexuality doesn't exist in Egypt!!!Gays were always a part of the art in Egypt either literature especially Naguib Mahfouz works or cinema,maybe a very poor role but they are always there because simply we are always there.We wish to live to see the day of a cinema without censorship,a cinema that shows the society as it really is,a neutral cinema that gives the chance for everyone to express himself even through a movie or a novel.

Although the continious claims of dr.Zahi Hawas that homosexuality never existed in ancient Egypt,the history tells us otherwise,through all civilizations homosexuality had been known and the Egyptian civilization is not an exception this is simply because it is always there and will always be .

From reading this article we can see that homosexuality had existed in ancient Egypt just like anywhere else and it's no wonder that we see a lot of gays in Egypt now,because maybe after all it runs in our blood
